49ers Reportedly Suffer Big Loss Ahead Of Kickoff Thursday Night

In Sunday's victory over the Los Angeles Rams, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers was injured.

For the past several days, Aiyuk's participation in tonight's game, which comes on short rest, has been in doubt.

Former first-round selection "not expected to play" against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, according to ESPN's Adam.

Even more telling of Aiyuk's absence is that San Francisco activated veteran wide receiver Chris Conley off the practice squad in advance of tonight's game.

49ers quarterback Brock Purdy favors Aiyuk, who reached 1,000 yards receiving in 2022 for the first time.

San Francisco will miss standout running back Saquon Barkley, starting offensive lineman Andrew Thomas and Ben Bredeson, and third-year pass rusher Azeez Ojulari while Aiyuk is out.
