Aaron Rodgers injured in opening drive for Jets, who win an unlikely OT
After only a few plays Monday night in New Jersey, future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers injured his much-touted Jets debut.
Leonard Floyd sacked Rodgers on New York's first series, and the former Packers quarterback struggled to leave MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
He was replaced by former Jets starter Zach Wilson and carried off with an ankle injury.
Rodgers walking into the Jets' locker room with a boot on his left foot and lower leg was captured on "Monday Night Football".
X-rays indicated no break, but the Jets stated he would not play the rest of the game, which they won 22-16 in overtime.
Xavier Gipson's 65-yard punt return gave the Jets the win.
Rodgers got four snaps Monday night, and he passed to Breece Hall for 26 yards, threw an incomplete pass, and was sacked after a 5-yard Bills penalty.
Rodgers, 39, won four NFL MVPs with the Packers over his career. On Feb. 6, 2011, Green Bay beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25, making him Super Bowl MVP.
