The Bears announced Wednesday that defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigned.
Williams left last week, citing personal concerns, and head coach Matt Eberflus called defensive plays in the 27-17 defeat to the Buccaneers.
Williams told ESPN, "I appreciate the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears, a storied NFL franchise with a rich history."
The McCaskeys are top-notch. I also want to thank Coach Matt Eberflus and General Manager Ryan Poles for inviting me to Chicago.
I also appreciate President Kevin Warren, the coaches, and players for their friendships.
After taking care of my health, I hope to coach again. I appreciate the NFL shield and all it represents.”
“Many rumors about #Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams.
