Bears Rookie Puts NFL on Notice Ahead of Opener vs. Packers

Tyrique Stevenson, a rookie cornerback for the Chicago Bears, has the NFL on notice and is eager to make an impression against the Green Bay Packers on September 10.

Stevenson's interception in the Bears' preseason finale boosted his confidence for the 2023 season opener.

He warned the Packers and the league about his performance in his first NFL game.

I want to make a statement in Play 1 next Sunday and show the NFL what I'm capable of as Tyrique Stevenson.

I want to represent the Bears well, especially in a game like that. I want to go out, stay focused, and make plays as expected.

The Bears traded up to draft Stevens at No. 56 in the 2023 NFL draft, offering up a fifth-rounder to move up five spots.

Stevenson is an aggressive press corner with excellent physicality and ball skills from Miami.

After a productive preseason, he is set to start on Day 1 for their defense alongside Jaylon Johnson.

Stevenson earned his chance to start for the Bears on Day 1. He made a few mistakes in coverage due to being aggressive and missed two interceptions during preseason.
