BREAKING: Chicago Bears Coach Resigns Following FBI Raid, Releases Statement

This morning, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Williams resigned as Bears DC "effective and immediately".

Williams told Rapoport he was taking a break to focus on his health and family.

It was claimed on Wednesday that FBI investigators raided Williams' house and Halas Hall, but other sources said they didn't.

Former Bears great cornerback Charles Tillman, now an FBI agent.

Informed head coach Matt Eberflus, GM Ryan Poles, and president Kevin Warren of Williams' house raid.

Eberflus became the Bears' head coach in 2022 after succeeding as the Colts' defensive coordinator. 

Williams coached the Colts' defensive backs from 2018 to 2021 until Eberflus hired him to lead the defense.

Williams started coaching in 2001 as a defensive assistant with the Buccaneers. His Colts coaching staff won Super Bowl 41 in 2006.
