Could Broncos HC Sean Payton bench Russell Wilson in favor of Jarrett Stidham after preseason performance?

The regular season hasn't started, but one reporter thinks Sean Payton and Russell Wilson's marriage is already in trouble.

Wilson's backup, Jarrett Stidham, went 17-of-28 for 236 yards and a score in Denver's preseason finale.

Wilson had a worse preseason than Stidham. The 27-year-old completed 34-of-60 (56.7%) throws for 416 yards and a TD.

Wilson completed 10-of-19 (52.6%) for 117 yards and a TD. Because Wilson played less, take the figures with a grain of salt.

The 34-year-old endured his worst season with a 4-11 starting record and an 84.4 passer rating.

Stidham may appeal to Payton if the former Pro Bowler stumbles again.
