Cowboys BREAKING: MRI Confirms Tyler Smith Injury

FRISCO The Dallas Cowboys acknowledged on Tuesday afternoon that star guard Tyler Smith has a hamstring injury after MRI results.

On Monday, it hampered him in The Star practice. The Dallas News reported the outcome. What does that imply for Sunday?

We felt better after we visited and assessed it after practice,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday morning.

Nothing that we’ve evaluated keeps him out of it at this point,” said Jones of Smith, the Cowboys' 2022 NFL Draft first-round choice who has rapidly become a strong QB protector.

The Cowboys' offensive line is lacking behind their key starters. Jones notes that such is not rare in the league.

Jones joked, “Get in line,” to those who wanted additional depth on a Cowboys squad management feels might compete for the Super Bowl. I don't know of an NFL club that doesn't say that."

Jones implies that Smith can milk himself through the week and play Sunday. If not? Smith might be replaced by fifth-round rookie Asim Richards.

As the New York prep continues here at The Star, Dallas' defensive end Sam Williams has missed a week of practice and safety Donovan Wilson has been absent since camp.
