Former Bills WR Mike Williams Passes Away at 36

Mike Williams, former Buffalo Bills receiver and Syracuse Orange standout, has died, according to reports. Age: 36.

Williams, from Buffalo, NY, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft after a successful college career at Syracuse. 

Williams ranks ninth in career receptions (133), eighth in receiving yards (2,044), and tied for second in receiving touchdowns (20) with Marvin Harrison.

Williams was the runner-up for Offensive Rookie of the Year, coming in second to Sam Bradford of the St. Louis Rams. In 2010, he had 65 catches, 964 yards, and 11 touchdowns.

Williams returned to Buffalo, his hometown, after the trade, conveniently located just a few hours from his college. 

He played 9 games for the Bills, with 8 catches for 142 yards and 1 touchdown. 

Williams had a great game against the Texans in 2014, with two catches for 84 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown.

Williams had a successful NFL career with 63 games played, 52 starts, 223 catches, 3,089 yards, and 26 touchdowns.
