Insider Reveals Chiefs’ Massive Contract Offer to Chris Jones

Kansas City Chiefs have made a contract offer to Chris Jones before their game against the Detroit Lions.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk analyzed the Chiefs' offer to Jones, who has been seeking a new contract since June's mandatory minicamp.

The Chiefs have offered to replace Jones' $19.5 million earnings in 2023 with $74 million over the next three years.

$70 million guaranteed for injury, with a lower amount fully guaranteed.

Jones would earn $24.6 million per year, making him the second-highest-paid player in the NFL after Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams.

Jones is open to a compromise between Donald's and Kansas City's deals, according to Florio.

Jones isn't trying to reach Donald's number. He would compromise, Florio wrote. The midpoint is $28.17 million.

Jones would take $84.5 million over three years instead of $95 million (the Donald deal).

Chiefs GM Brett Veach was asked if Jones would return before the regular season opener.
