Joe Burrow Savagely Turned Down His Parents After Signing His Historic $275-Million Contract Extension

Joe Burrow had a great Thursday, and his parents wanted to celebrate.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals extended his deal for five years and $275 million.

The $219 million in guarantees trails only Deshaun Watson, and Burrow's $55 million average yearly pay makes him the league's highest-paid player.

Burrow’s parents contacted him to celebrate their son’s contract.

“Joe is only focused on the Browns,” Joe's father told The Athletic. “That’s his nature.

This week in Cincinnati, we wanted to visit his residence for a few minutes. We were told no.

“That’s just Joe,” his father said. It's always like that. Even for home games, we remain at his place but can't come over till he leaves for the hotel.

He's only seen after games. His attentiveness is intense.” He should have accepted their offer since no amount of film study could have prepared him for Sunday.
