Josh McDaniels addresses Chandler Jones’ Instagram rant against Raiders
Chandler Jones, a defensive end with the Las Vegas Raiders, went on a weird social media tirade Tuesday and is currently on leave.
Jones posted many Instagram stories about his Raider's dissatisfaction.
He refused to play for the team if Josh McDaniels was head coach and Dave Ziegler was general manager.
The 33-year-old said the Raiders shut him out of the team facilities to “provoke” him. Screenshots are here.
McDaniels told reporters Wednesday that Jones had a “personal situation.
The coach wouldn't say if Jones will participate in the Raiders' season opener against the Broncos on Sunday.
Personal condition and issue. We resolved it, so I won't discuss it, McDaniels said.
McDaniels said the Raiders are taking Jones "one day at a time" and would not comment.
Jones signed a three-year, $51 million Raiders contract last summer.
Restructuring the agreement in April to create a salary cap room suggests that everything was OK between the two parties.
