Steelers Get Bad News on Cam Heyward Injury

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport believes that Pittsburgh Steelers captain Cam Heyward would likely be placed on Injured Reserve due to a Week 1 groin injury.

Heyward exited early against the 49ers and tried to return but was assisted off after one play. He was disqualified for the rest of the game.

Rapoport expects Heyward will miss many weeks and be placed on IR with the injury. He is considering all possibilities, including surgery.

Without Heyward, the Steelers would start DeMarvin Leal, Isaiahh Loudermilk, or Keeanu Benton.

Loudermilk is the backup defensive lineman, although Benton and Leal might play if required.

The Steelers have injured offensive lineman Chuks Okorafor and James Daniels and wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
